Development Project

Introduction

Harbury Pre-School has prepared proposed plans for the extension of their facilities at the Wight School. These have been drawn up as a result of the Pre-School being awarded a capital grant by Warwickshire County Council. We have consulted fully with the Trustees and indeed have been given the full support of the Parochial Church Council (PCC) for the development. We also have the full support of Warwickshire Library Services who are of course fellow users of the building, although we are of course waiting with anticipation the result of their libraries review.

Consultation

Having conducted this initial round of consultation, we are now consulting with other interested parties including yourselves and immediate neighbours prior to applying for formal planning permission. We are keen to hear any feedback and gain as much support as possible for proposals which we feel will be beneficial to the whole community. We would welcome the opportunity to present these proposals to the Parish Council if you feel that this would be appropriate. Alternatively, we would welcome any comments or feedback that stakeholders including parents and residents would wish to make.

Aim of Project

• To create an enhanced environment for Harbury Pre School and its provision of sessional care.
• To provide a more secure environment, including free-flow between indoor and outdoor play areas.
• To improve the DDA compliance of the facility by offering modern accessible facilities for all.
• To offer an improved service.

Community Benefit

As well improvements to the Pre-School facilities, the proposals also include demolition of a redundant attached flat roof building (old toilets) which would enable improved access to the Pre-School, Scout Hut and Car Park, although additional funding is required for this element.
